Good questions can be more useful than another complicated chart. Try these five prompts when you review your money.
01. Where did most of my spending go?
Start with your largest categories. Are they what you expected, and which expenses were one-offs?
This gives you a useful starting point without reviewing every single purchase.
02. What changed from last month?
Compare income and expenses month by month. Notice differences and consider the reasons behind them.
A change may reflect a planned event, not necessarily a problem.
03. What is the next decision I can make?
Ask what you can adjust, keep or plan ahead for. One small action is often enough.
On eligible plans, Ask Montra can help you explore financial records in everyday language. Review any proposed actions before confirming.
